SRG Apparel has moved from its site in Prestwich after 25 years to Whitefield, to occupy a £1m 40,000 sq ft of space at Park 17 industrial site.
The firm designs, makes and supplies menswear for leading retailers, including Next, River Island, Asda, Tesco, New Look and Matalan in the UK, Ireland and Europe.
It also manufactures its own brands, which include Dissident, Tokyo Laundry, Saint & Sinner as well as Cutting Edge.
The firm, which employs 70 staff in Manchester including 20 in product design and development, is currently turning over £50m with plans to double this by 2017.
Managing director Mahesh Patel said: “The new state-of-the-art site is double the size of our previous site and includes offices, five showrooms to showcase all our brands, as well as meeting rooms and video conferencing facilities.
“Product design and development lies at the heart of the business and we wanted to also provide our staff with a working environment where they will flourish but also enjoy.”
SRG was founded by its current chairman Rajesh Passi 40 years ago as a knitwear house in Moss Side.
Rajesh said: “We had to evolve in the market place and by moving production overseas we were able to concentrate on our product design, so as well as supplying to a large volume market, we were keen on producing our own branded products.
“At least 90 per cent of our products is for menswear but we are looking to produce female fashion items.”
SRG is also launching a range aimed at surfers called South Shore and has recently acquired Le Shark, a brand which was popular in the 80s, which SRG plans to revive.
Rajesh added: “The group has strong roots in the industry and is looking forward to exciting times ahead as we double our turnover and expand our range.”
